₦50,000 award for winners!

Children within the ages of 7 and 19 years who participate in the reading competition/challenge (grand competition) and emerge winners from any of the three categories (GR-1, GR-2 & GR-3) will go home with a cash prize of ₦50,000. This is the reward we give for just reading! And we do this every quarter.

The monthly competitions held at individual schools lead to the grand competition scheduled quarterly in all 36 states of Nigeria. Each month, pupils/students in each category are presented with prizes for reading and winning challenges organized by YRC-NG in their schools.

Terms and Procedure

To partake in the YRC-NG reading competition/challenge, the following must be met and ensured:

Participants must be club members of YRC-NG in their schools.
Participants must be between the ages of 7 and 19 years old.
The book for the monthly/quarterly competition must be purchased from this website (https://yrc.com.ng), which may be done directly from the website or through the YRC-NG school rep at individual schools.
Reading period begins from the day of purchase and ends 3 weeks after.
Monthly winners from each category shall be selected on a first-to-finish basis, which shall be evaluated by the YRC-NG school rep and rewarded accordingly. Hence, it is better to purchase the book of the month through the school reps so that the order is placed at once, and every child gets his/her book on the same day, same time to begin the reading.
Winners on the last month of every quarter shall represent their schools at the state level for the grand quarterly competition, where winners go home with ₦50,000 each.
